From a Gift to a Mission

The journey of SR Designs began at the age of fifteen. I discovered a natural gift for design—the ability to take a blank canvas and transform it into something beautiful. For years, I honed this craft by creating church programs, event booklets, and flyers. While the quiet desire to design obituaries was always there, I didn't yet realize it was my true calling. It took a personal encounter with loss for my purpose to become clear.

When my father passed away, I sat down to design his obituary. It was a deep labor of love, yet I still hesitated to turn my dream into a business. Eight years later, when my mother passed, that internal spark became a flame that could no longer be contained. Through the process of honoring my own parents, I realized that an obituary is more than just paper—it is a vessel for a lifetime of stories. My mission to help families navigate their grief through the art of storytelling was finally birthed, and SR Designs was born.
